NHS FEES

We treat patients on the NHS, in accordance with NHS regulations. There are however some limitations on the range of treatments and materials that are available on the NHS, especially when these are needed for cosmetic enhancements. These could include treatments such as tooth whitening, dental implants, veneers and some white fillings. We can provide these extra services on a private basis without affecting your NHS status. If we do recommend a private treatment we will give you a written treatment plan which shows exactly what is being provided privately and what is being provided on the NHS.

The NHS maks its charges for dental work based on three different treatment bands:

Band 1: £20.60

This covers an examination, diagnosis (e.g. X-rays), advice on how to prevent future problems, a scale and polish if needed, and application of fluoride varnish or fissure sealants.

Band 2: £56.30

This covers everything listed in Band 1 above, plus any further treatment such as fillings, root canal work or tooth extractions.

Band 3: £244.30

This covers everything listed in Bands 1 and 2 above, plus crowns, dentures or bridges.

In compliance with NHS regulations, it is our policy to collect NHS patient charges in advance of any NHS appointments, usually at the time of booking the appointment. Our dentists will be unable to proceed with your appointment if full payment has not been made. NHS Dental patient charges will be collected as follows:

Band 1 – £20.60                 Paid in full at time of booking the appointment

Band 2 - £56.30                  Paid in full at the time of booking the treatment appointment

Band 3 - £244.30                 £122.15 paid on booking the treatment appointment and a further £122.15 paid when attending first treatment appointment
